LP Director Huff Speaks at Conference, Lawfare: The Use of Law as a Weapon of War
The Lawfare Project's Channel https://www.legal-project.org/1890/lp-director-huff-speaks-at-conference-lawfare Legal Project Director, Daniel Huff, participated in the conference, Lawfare: The Use of Law as a Weapon of War, held on March 11, 2010 in New York, NY at the New York County Lawyers' Association. James Taranto (Editorial Board Member – WSJ) moderated one of the event's panel discussion's titled "Lawfare Efforts To Thwart Free Speech On Issues Of National Security And Public Concern." Panelists included: the Honorable Irwin Cotler (Fmr. Minister of Justice – Canada), Marvin Kurtz (Dale Streiman & Kurtz LLP), and Douglas Murray (Director – Center for Social Cohesion). Legal Project Director, Daniel Huff, focused on how predatory lawsuits threaten the vital role private citizens have played in aiding the government in the identification of terrorists and sources of terror financing. He also highlighted efforts at the UN by the Organization of the Islamic Conference to enshrine a prohibition against insulting Islam in binding international law. The conference was organized by The Lawfare Project and sponsored by the Committee on Foreign and International Law of the NCLA.
